AC section insulator for different-phase sections
Section insulators of this type are used in the sections for separating different-phase power supplies or neutral sections of AC overhead contact lines (20000 to 25000 VAC). They are made of FRP. Their standard lengths are specified to be 6 m for the Shinkansen and 8 m for narrow-gauge lines on the basis of their arc-cutting performance.

DC section insulator No. 2
Section insulators of this model are the most used for DC overhead contact lines (1500 VDC). Their insulators are made of FRP. The pantograph contact strips directly touch them while sliding.

DC section insulator No. 3 Quasi
Section insulators of this model are used for DC overhead contact lines (1500 VDC) in sections where carbon contact strips are used. Their support slider made of metal and insulating material allows the pantograph contact strips to make almost no contact with the FRP insulators.
